Required Information

To order from the Ashburton Chefs Academy, you must provide your name, shipping address, billing address and phone number, and email address. For cookery courses you will also be asked to tell us of any food allergies, or health issues of the student that we should be aware of.

In some instances, such as overseas payments, we may ask for further proof of identity in order for us to comply with our anti-money laundering obligations.

Do you keep my credit/debit card details on file?

No. We do not keep any records of your credit/debit card details within our organisation in any form, either written, electronically or in a database. Once you enter your details online, the transaction is processed via our payment processer and no details are recorded by ourselves.

When you place an order with us over the telephone, your credit card details are processed in the same way by our telephone operators and there is NO record of your financial details retained by our organisation.

Use of your Personal Information

Ashburton Chefs Academy collects and uses your personal information to operate the Ashburton Chefs Academy Web site and deliver the services you have requested. Ashburton Chefs Academy also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Ashburton Chefs Academy and its affiliates. Our Pledge

Energy Conservation

The Ashburton Chefs Academy operates an energy conservation policy to ensure that all non-critical equipment is switched off when not needed. We will always seek to purchase products that are environmentally friendly, re-usable, recyclable, biodegradable and that do not damage the environment.

Whenever possible, Ashburton Chefs Academy:

  • Purchases local, sustainable produce based on low food miles to reduce carbon emissions
  • Supports local economy
  • Assists customers to use products and services in an environmentally-sensitive way
  • Encourages all suppliers to raise similar environmental standards

Complaints Policy

How to Complain

We strive to always offer a great level of service. However, if we do not deliver the standard of service that you expect or you have a complaint, please email us here or write to us at:-

We will usually respond to your complaint within three working days but if we can’t then we’ll write to acknowledge your complaint and tell you what happens next. We’ll keep you informed of our investigation into your complaint and provide a final response within eight weeks.

If you are complaining about a student finance product and following a complaint to us you are not happy with our final response, or if we have been unable to resolve your complaint within eight weeks, you may have the right to refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman on the details below.

Digital Media Policy

In the age of Smartphones, Twitter, and Facebook we recognize that students will want to record their experiences and training at the Ashburton Chefs Academy through self-publishing in the form of blogs, photos, video, social media etc

This policy is designed to offer students a framework to document their experience and express themselves online without compromising the integrity of the training experience or infringing privacy laws or intellectual property rights.

  • The Academy and Chef Tutors will not publish any content, photo or video relating to students without their permission.
  • Students’ mobile phones/cameras should be switched off when in the training kitchen at all times.
  • Photography is permitted within the training kitchens for set periods only with the permission of the Chef Tutor on duty. During this time you may take photographs of your own work only for publishing online.
  • Audio and/or Video recording is not permitted within the Academy at any time without the express permission of the Chef Director.
  • Unless you have the permission of those involved, you should not publish photographs or video featuring other individuals at the Academy.
  • Your published content must respect the Academy’s confidentiality and proprietary information and be respectful to the institution, students, staff, partners, and competitors.
  • Whilst you may reference your course content in online posts, you must not replicate course work in its entirety online. Documents issued by the Academy (or third party such as CTH, CIEH, WSET) such as Course Notes or Assignments should not be published to any digital platform.
  • You should not post complaints online about your course, staff members or fellow students but rather pursue the General Appeals & Complaints Procedure.
  • If you become aware of any online material that compromises these guidelines, please bring it to the attention of a Chef Tutor or the Course Administrator.

Examples

Acceptable:

  • A personal diary blog post describing your experiences on a typical day at the Academy, including photographs of your work. You might choose to include a recipe from the day but not all of your course notes.

Acceptable:

Posting to Social Media

  • About your experience;
  • a photo of a fellow student who has given you permission;
  • a photo of a dish you have created;

Not acceptable:

  • Online publishing (blog, forum, facebook, twitter etc) that is unprofessional, critical or personal about staff, facilities or fellow students;
  • Content that shows course materials in detail;
  • video or audio taken without the permission of the Academy.
