Day Course - Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Wines & Spirits

This course is suitable
for keen amateurs who have a lively interest in wine and wish to
learn more in a structured way. But it is also the next step in
the WSET vocational training in product knowledge for those employed
in the drinks industry. The key grape varieties which will be studied
are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon
Blanc, Syrah, Grenache and Riesling as well as wines of Italy, Spain
and Portugal, Sparkling and Sweet wines, Fortified Wines, Spirits
and Liqueurs. the course also includes Wine Tasting, Food &
Wine matching as well as factors affecting the style, quality and
price of wine. At the end of the course you may take the WSET exam
at the national exam rate. Allow a further 1 hour.
A minimum of 16 hours
tuition and recommended home study of 16 hours for this course,
but we have added additional tuition hours so that over the 5 days
you can be ready for the examination. Total minimum tuition hours
at the school 28. Lunch and tasting snacks, wines, course book and
a set of six ISO tasting glasses are included in the course.
